Crews are mobilizing this week on the FishHawk Boulevard microtunnel project, which is great news for traffic flow and long-term development in our area. These kinds of infrastructure improvements might not be the flashiest headlines, but they're the backbone of making our community more connected and accessible. It's the kind of work that pays dividends down the road.

Local Business is Booming

Our business community is thriving. Jeff's Bagel Run, a local favorite, is expanding to Bloomingdale with local owners leading the charge. That's exactly what I love to see — homegrown businesses growing and staying rooted in the community. Meanwhile, the October business report shows solid activity across Valrico, which tells me people are investing in this area and seeing the potential we all know is here.

One business that's been a fixture in our community for a long time just hit a major milestone. Walk The Walk Pet Care is celebrating a decade of caring for our furry neighbors. Ten years of consistent service, loyal customers, and community presence — that's the kind of business story that matters. If you haven't used their services yet, they're clearly doing something right.

Community Coming Together

We had a special moment recently when players, families, and fans came together for Special Swings Day. These are the kinds of events that remind me why I love living and working here. It's not about real estate transactions or market conditions — it's about neighbors showing up for each other and creating memories. That's what builds a real community.

And if you haven't heard yet, Novemberfest is celebrating 55 years of community tradition. Fifty-five years. That's a testament to how Valrico shows up for its people year after year. These long-standing traditions are part of what makes our area special and worth being part of.
