Food Truck Friday returns to Valrico Commons on SR-60 — one of the easiest Friday night plans in eastern Hillsborough County. A rotating lineup of local food trucks parks along the commons, and the whole neighborhood shows up.

What to Expect

Expect anywhere from 5 to 10 food trucks depending on the week. The lineup rotates, but you will typically find a mix of tacos, BBQ, burgers, mac and cheese, seafood, and dessert trucks. There is usually at least one truck serving something adventurous for the foodies in the group.

The atmosphere is laid-back and family-friendly. Bring lawn chairs or a blanket if you want to set up near the grass. Kids run around, dogs are welcome on leashes, and the sunset over SR-60 is actually pretty solid from this spot.

Why Locals Love It

Valrico does not have a ton of nightlife, and that is kind of the point — people move here for the quiet, family-oriented lifestyle. But Food Truck Friday gives you a reason to get out of the house on a Friday night without driving to Ybor City or SoHo. It is five minutes from Bloomingdale, Buckhorn, and Brentwood Hills, and the food is legitimately good.

Pro tip: arrive by 5:30 if you want to beat the lines. By 6:30, the popular trucks start running low on their best items.
