Edward Medard Reservoir is the top fishing spot — it's stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, and catfish. You can fish from the bank or bring a small boat (electric motors only). The Alafia River has freshwater fishing along its banks. For saltwater fishing, Tampa Bay and the Gulf are about 30-40 minutes away. Cypress Creek near Valrico also has some decent spots. A Florida freshwater fishing license is required ($17/year for residents).
