Valrico has several parks. Bloomingdale Community Park is the largest with a playground, walking trails, athletic fields, and a community center. Edward Medard Conservation Park on Turkey Creek Rd has a reservoir for fishing, kayaking, and hiking. Lithia Springs Park is just south of Valrico with a natural spring-fed swimming area — one of the best in the county. Alafia River State Park is 15 minutes southeast with mountain biking and camping.
