Answer

The Newsome High School zone covers the southern Buckhorn corridor of Valrico. Key neighborhoods include:

  • Buckhorn Preserve
  • Buckhorn Golf Club Estates
  • Canterbury Oaks
  • Buckhorn Run
  • Copper Ridge
  • Bonterra
  • Buckhorn Hills
  • Buckhorn Oaks

Some neighborhoods near the zone boundary may be split between Newsome and Bloomingdale. The only way to confirm is to check the Hillsborough County School District boundary tool for a specific address. Do not rely on MLS listing data for school zone verification; it is frequently wrong.

The Newsome zone carries a price premium of roughly $20,000 to $40,000 over comparable homes zoned for other high schools in the area. This premium has been consistent for years and shows no sign of shrinking.

If you want to search homes specifically in the Newsome zone, I can set up a filtered search. Call me at (813) 733-7907 or visit valricoagent.com.
