What's happening in our community

What a week to be part of our SouthShore community. There's genuine momentum building around here, and I'm seeing it reflected both in the energy around town and in conversations I'm having with buyers and sellers looking to plant roots in Valrico.

Business Growth Is Real

Our local business scene is thriving right now. The Osprey Observer's October business spotlight shows SouthShore is attracting new investment and creating opportunities. We're also celebrating 27North Realty hitting a major milestone: their first year in business generated $110 million in production. That's not just a number. That represents homes sold, families moved, dreams realized. It speaks to how active and healthy our real estate market remains.

Speaking of new businesses, Chipotle just opened its newest location in Apollo Beach, and The Goddard School is expanding into Wimauma. These aren't small things. When established brands choose to grow in our area, it signals confidence in our community's trajectory. More dining options, more educational resources, more reasons for people to choose the SouthShore lifestyle.

Community Is Showing Up

What strikes me most about Valrico is how engaged our residents are. The Men's Chorus is actively recruiting members and hitting all the right notes, the Genealogical Society is connecting people to their roots, and there's an Arts and Crafts Fair happening. These events matter because they're the threads that weave a neighborhood into a real community.

The Pelican Players are gearing up for a production starting November 13, and Sun City Center is hosting two nights of Magic and Motown. Whether you're into theater, live music, or local arts, there's something happening. That's the kind of place Valrico is: somewhere people actually want to spend their time together.

Taking Care of Yourself Matters

I appreciated seeing the coverage on self-care this week. We spend so much time focused on work, homes, and obligations that we forget to put ourselves on the roster. One of the reasons I love Valrico is that it offers that balance. You can live in a thriving community with strong job markets and excellent schools, but still have the space and resources to slow down when you need to. Whether that's joining a community group, catching a local event, or just enjoying our natural landscape, this area supports a lifestyle that lets you breathe.

The Market Update

From a real estate perspective, we're seeing steady interest in the Valrico and Brandon area. Inventory remains reasonable, and the combination of new commercial development plus strong community engagement is attractive to buyers looking beyond just a house, they're looking for a place to live. If you've been thinking about making a move to our area, this is a solid time to explore your options.

What Makes Us Stand Out

Here's what I keep coming back to: Valrico isn't flashy, but it's solid. We're a place where businesses want to establish themselves, where community organizations thrive, where neighbors actually know each other. We've got economic growth happening, cultural events to enjoy, and a genuine sense that people are choosing to be here because they want to be.

October's winding down, and November's already shaping up to be busy. There are shows to see, groups to join, and plenty of reasons to get out and experience what makes our community special.

If you're thinking about joining us in Valrico or upgrading your current situation, I'm always happy to talk about what's available and what fits your lifestyle. That's what I'm here for.

Until next week, enjoy everything our community has to offer.
